GAIN's Mission

The mission of the Gilead Asian Interest Network (GAIN) is to promote a culture of inclusion and diversity through continual learning. GAIN seeks to bring awareness to the diverse cultures that represent Asian employees and strengthens the voices of its members by:

  • Offering employees access to leadership opportunities
  • Providing opportunities for employees to develop and grow, and to access innovative concepts and unique solutions to challenges at Gilead
GAIN has been instrumental in my journey at Gilead. When I co-found Gilead's first Asian employee resource group, I had no formal leadership experience, just a deep desire to build community and create space for others. Through my involvement in GAIN, I've grown in ways I never imagined, both personally and professionally.

GAIN became my creative outlet to foster inclusion, cultivate mentorship, and amplify voices that deserve to be heard. Over time, I found myself becoming a champion for professional development and ensuring our community had a seat at the table.

This journey has shaped me as a leader and given me a profound sense of belonging and purpose. As I continue to grow at Gilead, I remain passionate about developing talent, sharing knowledge, and creating spaces where others feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Giving Together – Hepatitis B Foundation

Hepatitis B is the #1 health disparity for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). AAPIs carry 50% of chronic hepatitis B burden in the U.S. Through the Giving Together Portal, Gilead has raised over $15,000 for the Hepatitis B Foundation in 2025.

Cultural Celebrations

GAIN’s commitment to cultural awareness and community-building extends well beyond Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. Representing the rich diversity of the Asian diaspora, GAIN offers a wide range of programs throughout the year. These include traditional dragon dances during Lunar New Year celebrations, Fireside Chats with prominent guest speakers, film screenings, and panel discussions featuring senior leaders from around the world.
