Pride Alliance's Mission
Pride Alliance provides a welcoming community for employees who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex and/or asexual, as well as our allies. The mission of Pride Alliance is to:
- Promote an inclusive and safe work environment where LGBTQIA+ employees and allies can be their authentic selves
- Champion global inclusion and acceptance of LGBTQIA+ people across Gilead and beyond
working in and for the LGBTQIA+ community. Discovering this employee resource group four years ago opened the door to countless opportunities and experiences I might not have had otherwise.
Some of my favorite accomplishments and memories include supporting the expansion of our ERG footprint in our Southern California chapter (currently comprised of 6 sites), connecting with like-minded individuals across Gilead and Kite, and witnessing the joy of our members as they participate in the social and educational events we organized.
Knowing that I work for an organization that genuinely cares about its LGBTQIA+ employees is something I truly cherish and am deeply grateful for.

Pride Alliance Impact
Pronouns for Inclusion
Pronouns affirm gender identities while fostering an environment of respect, safety and inclusion, especially for our transgender and non-binary colleagues. Pride Alliance successfully launched an initiative to embed personal pronouns into all internal systems including the intranet, online meeting, email signatures, and, most recently, internal contact cards. Pride Alliance continues to collaborate with other teams to expand this program beyond the U.S.
Enhancing Benefits
Working with the benefits team, Pride Alliance helped identify opportunities to support the needs of our employees.
Events & Community
Pride Alliance continues to champion LGBTQ+ inclusion through impactful programming and visibility efforts. This year, the group hosted a Transgender Day of Visibility panel in partnership with GenderCool, held Pride Month flag-raising ceremonies across multiple sites and celebrated with Pride brunches and parades across the globe. The launch of cross-ERG mentoring circles and a cross-ERG allyship event further strengthened community and collaboration across the organization.
