Program overview
The Research Scholars Program supports meaningful research from emerging investigators that help to address knowledge gaps and drive medical breakthroughs within the following therapeutic areas:
HIV and Viral Hepatitis
Primary Biliary Cholangitis
Oncology, Solid Tumors
The Research Scholars Program provides two years of financial support to junior faculty researchers. Award amounts vary globally, although generally each recipient is provided $180,000 USD paid in two annual installments directly to the scholar’s institution. Funding for the second year is contingent upon submission of a progress report and approval by the chair of the program’s scientific review committee.
We also offer a Public Health program for junior researchers across low- to middle-income countries as part of our commitment to advancing global health.
Scientific Review Committees
The selection of each cohort of the Research Scholars Program is overseen by an independent expert scientific review committee to facilitate equal, objective evaluation of all applicants and their submissions. This upholds our program’s overall integrity and competitive standards and ensures that awards support the next generation of breakthrough scientific discovery.
